Impossible Is Our Mission

Doc Hendley, bartender turned boundary-breaker, believes that like water, we will always find a way. In 2004, after learning that dirty water is the world’s deadliest crisis, Doc prayed and asked the Lord if He could use a “guy like him.” If so, he’d be willing to go wherever he was needed. Within a few weeks he held his first Wine To Water event to raise funds for clean water. Six months later, he was living in Darfur, Sudan, bringing water solutions to communities others deemed unreachable.

Doc founded WTW on a simple belief, God can use anyone to do His work. Even rough around the edges people like him. Two decades later, that mission remains the same. WTW partners with communities to create sustainable water solutions, because water doesn’t just sustain life, it transforms it. We aren’t an organization made up of elites. We’re just regular everyday folks that are crazy enough to believe that what the world needs now more than ever is “regular everyday folks” rallying to love and serve each other.

Named a CNN Hero in 2009, Doc continues to lead with grit, humility, and the unwavering belief that ordinary people can do extraordinary things.
